Portugal & Spain Golf Itinerary:
DAY 1 - Depart US for flights to Lisbon, Portugal
(flights not included). Ask WWG about our special airline
prices on Virgin Atlantic. Evening is spent aloft.
DAY 2 - Arrive Lisbon, meet and greet by WWG staff.
Pick up rental car for 40-minute drive to the five-star
Caesar Park Penha Longa Resort. Tonight we have included a
welcome dinner in the resort dining room. (Penha Longa - D)
DAY 3 - After breakfast (included every day in your
hotel), golf at Atlantic GC, a great Robert Trent Jones Jr
designed course on property. Afternoon free to relax by the
pool or do some sightseeing in Lisbon (book at private
guided tour?). Fish tonight at a local seaside restaurant? (Penha
Longa – B)
DAY 4 - Check out of the hotel and drive south
through the lovely cork tree countryside to The Algarve
region on the coast, and check in at the 5-star Le Meridian
Dona Filipa Resort. Dinner is included at the hotel this

DAY 5 - Highlighted today is your round at San
Lorenzo GC, Portugal's top ranked course and often a World
top 100 in Golf Magazine. Afternoon free to explore the
beach or Vilamoura harbour and restaurants. (Dona Filipa –

DAY 6 - A nice day of golf today on Vale do Lobo
Royal Course, the second best track in the vicnity and
always in nice shape. (Dona Filipa – B)
DAY 7 - Check out of the hotel this morning and drop
your car at Faro Airport. Picked up by a private car and
driver and driven to Seville for a quick sightseeing tour on
arrival. Check in at the grand Hotel Alfonzo XIII, the top
5-star hotel in the city, where your next rental car will be
delivered. (Alfonzo XIII – B)
DAY 8 - Depart Seville this morning for the drive 3
hours south to San Roque, On arrival, golf at San Roque GC,
a great Tony Jacklin designed course on property. Dinner
included in the hotel restaurant this evening. (San Roque –

DAY 9 - Highlighted today is your round at Valderrama
GC, the “Augusta of Europe”, ranked #87 in the world by Golf
Magazine (should be ranked higher). Bring a jacket and stay
for a superb dinner at Valderrama? (San Roque – B)
DAY 10 - Golf at Sotogrande GC by Robert Trent Jones
Sr. one of Spain’s best courses. Perhaps enjoy sightseeing
and dinner in Gibraltar?(San Roque – B)
DAY 11 - Depart San Roque today and check in at the
tony Puente Romano Hotel on the beach in Marbella. Day free
to visit Ronda, Marbella, or perhaps a day drive to see the
Alhambra in Granada. Tonight WWG suggests dining at El
Portal, the top restaurant on the coast and close by the
hotel, or perhaps enjoy Paella in chic Puerto Banus? (Puente

DAY 12 - Golf today at Las Brisas GC, the coasts top
course for many years until Valderrama was built, and site
of a former World Cup tournament. Afterwards, dinner is
included tonight at your five-star hotel Puente Romano.

DAY13 - Check out and transfer to the Malaga Airport,
turn in car, and departing flights to the US or extend you
tour to Seville, Barcelona, Algarve, Lisbon, Madrid or other

CAESAR PARK PENHA LONGA GOLF RESORT - Sintra -Located within
the protected landscape of Sintra, Caesar Park Penha Longa
Golf & Resort (managed by Westin) is less that ½ hour drive
from the Lisbon Airport. One of Europe’s most unique golf

by Robert Trent Jones Jr. that has been used for recent
Portuguese Open’s on the European PGA Tour. The hotel offers

HOTEL ALFONZO XIII - Seville - Architecture that bears the
stamp of Moorish influence, capturing the perfection of this
marvelous city of Seville, can be found at the Sheraton
Collection Hotel Alfonzo XIII. When built in 1928, it was
designed to be the most elaborate hotel in Europe, and since
that day has hosted many heads of state and royal families.
The restaurant, San Fernando, is famous for the decor and
excellent food and the gardens, pool and central courtyard
are exquisite. Each of the 127 guest rooms and 19 suites
were recently refurbished and the hotel also offers a full

SAN ROQUE CLUB - awarded the 2001 "Wide World of Golf Hotel
of the Year", and boasts recently refurbished rooms,
excellent restaurants, state of the art leisure facilities
and the Ballesteros Golf Academy on site. he hotel has 100
rooms and suites with gardens, private terraces, sitting
rooms, air conditioning and satellite TV. Outstanding
facilities include Spikes bar; Frederick Maigrot Restaurant
for breakfast and dinner; excellent Pro Shop; challenging
Tony Jacklin golf course with carts; twice weekly guest golf
clinics; complimentary mountain bikes; exclusive Beach Club;

and Puerto Banus, in the Marbella’s Golden Mile. It is the
place where the world’s aristocracy, artists, politicians
and businessmen have come together since the 1960’s. It has
been constructed horizontally, consisting of low-rise
buildings surrounded by pools, waterfalls, ponds and
gardens, all sloping to the sea. WWG Grade: A-

Featured Golf Course:
VALDERRAMA GC - Sotogrande - Not much introduction is needed
for Valderrama, voted Europe’s #1 course by the PGA members,
and site of the annual Volvo Masters on the European Tour
and the 1997 Ryder Cup. Valderrama has gained international
fame through the energy of the proprietor, Jose Ortiz-Patino,
who not only insisted on making changes to the original RT
Jones Sr. layout (notably to the 17th hole), but also
demanded exceptional standards of course upkeep (you hardly
dare take a divot!). The strategic difficulty, omnipresent
trees, the size of the bunkers and a few water hazards will
keep you “on your toes”. On most holes, keep the driver in
the bag and play for the center of the fairway, as many
people can be in the fairway and not have a shot! Don’t
bother playing to your handicap, as even the top champions
find making par a tough task. Make sure the visit the
excellent pro shop and restaurant too, among the best
anywhere in Spain. WWG Grade: A+

(or $50 per person); two people will have to pay $300 extra
(or $150 per person); and a single will have to pay $450

be collected at final payment date or reservations will be
