Itinerary:
Day 1 - Morning arrival in Paris. Welcome by local WWG
representative at the airport and drive or transfer 3 hours
to Château des Sept Tours. Lodging at Château des Sept
Tours, situated in the heart of the Valley of the Kings,
which offers the gentle way of life lived by our
aristocratic ancestors. Welcome dinner tonight at the hotel.
Day 2 - Golf at Château des Sept Tours golf course, set at
the foot of the château in a beautiful parkland setting with
really nice holes. Visit of Château de Villandry, its
splendid and unique terraces of gardens, which encase it
like a jeweled casket. Lodging at Château des Sept Tours.
Day 3 - Visit of Château de Chenonceau, a real jewel built
on the Cher river in the 16th century, where many Kings
wives lived, including Diane de Poitiers, "la toujours
belle", and Catherine de Medicis, "la fastueuse". Visit and
shopping in Amboise along the Loire River. Lodging at
Château des Sept Tours.
Day 4 - Golf at Cheverny golf course, at the door of
Cheverny castle, amid the forest of Sologne. This is a very
serene, peaceful setting in a gorgeous garden setting. Visit
of Château de Cheverny, the most magnificently furnished
château in the Loire Valley with its paintings by old
masters and Flemish tapestries, used by Herge as a model for
the famous Moulinsart castle of Capitaine Haddock. Lodging
at Les Bordes Lodge, traditional cottages with their oak
beams and handmade furniture in the extraordinary atmosphere
of the forest of Sologne.
Day 5 - Golf at Les Bordes International golf course, a
superb championship 18 holes created by the famous Baron
Bich and designed by Robert Von Hagge, considered as the
finest and toughest course in France. This course will
compare with the best of American country clubs. Visit of
the Château de Chambord, the largest castle in France with
its 440 rooms, created by François 1er and inspired by
Leonardo da Vinci. Lodging at Les Bordes Lodge.
Day 6 - Golf at Chateau de Belesbat golf course, a superb
parkland course surrounding the chateau with 9 "linksy"
holes and 9 water holes. Lodging at Château de Belesbat, a
4-star château in a unique 120 acres natural preserve, where
history, nature and golf blend in with a modern resort.
Day 7 - Golf at Fontainebleau golf course, ranked amid the
top 10 courses in Continental Europe, in the heart of the
Fontainebleau forest famous for its sandstone rocks.
Sightseeing at Château de Fontainebleau, castle of Kings of
France for centuries. Farewell dinner included tonight at de
Belesbat. Lodging at Château de Belesbat.
Day 8 - Drive or transfer 90 minutes to Paris Charles de
Gaulle airport and depart. -
