Courses:

"Australia has, in my opinion, the best golf in the world
outside of the USA.”—P.K. (Edina, MN)
KINGSTON
HEATH GOLF CLUB: Par 72, 6,813 yards “The Heath” was
designed by Dr. Alister Mackenzie and is ranked #20 in
the world by GOLF Magazine. Sometimes called the top
Australian course, this championship layout has hosted
many international competitions including the Australian
Open on many occasions. The first hole sets the tune for
the course with a par 4 (460 yards) opening that plays
to the top of a hill with many bunkers awaiting the ball
-WWG Grade: A+
ROYAL MELBOURNE GC: Par 72, 6,875 yards Although
the club started at another location in 1891, and Queen
Victoria granted the “Royal” title in 1895, the East and
West Courses officially opened in 1901 but were later
redesigned (1926) by Dr. Alister Mackenzie (West Course)
and Alex Russell (East Course), who was an assistant to
Dr. Mackenzie. The Composite Course is rated as
Australia's foremost layout and encompasses holes from
both East (6) and West (12) courses, and is ranked #10
in the world. Host to many Australian Opens (won by
Player, Watson and Norman), and other tournaments such
as the 1998 Presidents Cup won by the International
squad. WWG Grade: A+
NEW SOUTH WALES
GOLF CLUB: Par 72, 6810 yards Situated on the
panoramic south coast of Sydney, this windswept links
style course was designed by Dr. Alister Mackenzie in
1928. This is the course where Greg Norman and President
Clinton played together in 1998, and is ranked #34 in
the world by GOLF Magazine. The wind is almost always a
major factor. It has a certain links feel to it and the
6th is an unusual island tee on a rock spit out in the
ocean. Look for the shipwreck on the rocks, and remember
to bring your camera. There is a beautiful new clubhouse
and pro shop with plenty of courteous members around
willing to talk over a pint of lager (Steve Elkington
and Norman are members). WWG Grade: A+
